The sphere of my experience includes coaching team sports, sports management, consultancy work, personal training, nutrition and lifestyle coaching.
In addition I receive referrals from chiropractors and physiotherapists in respect of active rehabilitation exercise for their clients. The area’s I am especially interested in is, application of fitness techniques to enhance client’s potential in their chosen sport and physical exercise training for rehabilitation purposes.
Alongside these skills in Nov 2007 I became qualified as a sports massage therapist. This has helped me offer my clients a new valuable service. This skill gave me the opportunity to work with a Pro rugby team, Western Force Rugby Club while they were on an end of season tour here in the UK. When they were based in the South East they played Saracens, Northampton and Leicester.
My fitness journey started around 6 years ago when I was struggling to gain weight and wasn’t happy with the way I looked. I had seen some pictures and videos on the internet and decided to give weight lifting a go…and I’ve been hooked ever since!
It was only last year that I decided I wanted to take my passion to the next level, so I quit my job to join the fitness industry. After seeing/feeling the effect training had on my body and more importantly my mind, I realised that my purpose was to help others feel the same!
I’ve been at the Fitness Room since September ’18 and have already learned so much just from speaking to gym members that have shared their personal stories!
I recently completed my Level 2 & 3 Personal Training qualification and will soon be starting a course in nutrition! I’m available for 1 on 1 and group Personal Training, Circuit classes and Boxercise sessions – so if you fancy giving any of these a go then get in touch!
I recently became qualified in Boxercise and hope to incorporate this into my personal training, along with my previous knowledge which includes kettlebells, suspension training and HIIT along with what I have learnt from martial arts.
Previously I worked at Champneys near Tring as a fitness and wellbeing instructor. There I looked after the gym as well as taught classes and took Personal training sessions. As well as working alongside the fitness room I wish to start my own personal training business to allow me funding to continue training.
I started as a trainer at the gym in 2000 and then have had various jobs within Berkhamsted School - the latest being Food Prep & Nutrition Technician! So I am an all-rounder on exercise and food!! I began life as a secretary so I now use all my skills doing the gym admin too!
It is a very friendly gym and I love the easy atmosphere that we have with the kids and adults alike. No-one feels under pressure to "look the part" as we have a total mixture of people up to 89 years old! I am definitely a people person and love the interaction with the clients. Look forward to seeing you soon!!
